昨年末SAMSARAは海外で過ごしましたが、どこかというと…台湾！

台湾に住んでた友達、旅行したことがある友達…みんな口を揃えて言うのはご飯が美味しい！安い！と。言われた通りしっかり食い倒れてきましたが、その話はまたいつかできれば…笑

台湾で一番楽しみにしていたのはもちろん、こちら↓↓

Last year we spent the year end overseas, and one of the places we visited was Taipei, Taiwan.

All our friends have been telling us that Taiwan has the best cheap and delicious Asian eats. We of course had one of the best experiences, thanks to our Taiwanese friend who took us around, but hopefully I can share that side of the travels with you all another time...

This (↓↓) is where I want to introduce to you all today :)

台湾は台北にある、台北動物園。かなり広い施設で結構いろいろと行き届いていてよかったですよ〜！

１２月末でも日中はかなり暑く（２７℃とか…）なる上にだいぶ歩くのでヘトヘトになりました…！

Taipei Zoo in Taiwan. It was actually quite nice; so much to walk around and see, lots of educational info boards, enclosures were spacious etc etc...

現地の友人に車で連れてってもらいましたが、すぐ横にMRT（電車）の台北動物園駅がありました。入口横のチケットカウンターでチケットを買い、いざ動物園へ！

Our local friend took us by car, but the MRT's Taipei Zoo Train Station was right next to the facility. You can buy your tickets at the counter beside the entrance.

入って早々になんか気になるウォールアート…。結構いろいろオブジェだったりアートだったり、動物たちへのルート沿いは楽しめる工夫がされていました。

Interesting wall art as soon as we got it. There were actually quite a lot of decorative statues and artsy walls at this zoo.

上の写真でSamieが読んでいたのはこれ。実はこのウォールアート、絶滅危惧種を想って作られたものだったんです。すでに15000種もが絶滅してしまい現在もたくさんの動植物が絶滅の危機にいる…　と書いてあります。（漢字を見るとなんとなーく理解できますが、友人に訳してもらいました笑）

This is what Samie was reading in the photo above... The wall art was in fact dedicated to Endangered/extinct species of the world, and this was a plaque explaining what "endangered species" are.

まず最初に見て回ったのはエントランスに一番近い「台湾の動物ゾーン」。

暑い中しばらくみんなで頑張ったのにお目当の動物が見つからず立ち尽くす私…。

なんの動物かは次回ブログにて！台湾特有の動物たちも紹介します♪

First off we went around the "Formosan animals zone".
