先日は富士花鳥園に行ってきましたが、実はその前に多摩動物公園のアフリカフェアにも行ってました！
We went to Fuji Kachoen the other day, but before that we actually visited Tama Zoo's Africa Fair!
アフリカフェア / Africa Fair
今年で４回目の「アフリカフェア」。
アフリカをもっと身近に感じるため、そして日本とアフリカの友好を深めるために始まったそうです！
１０月２７日はアフリカの動物を紹介するトークショー、２８日はアフリカの音楽とダンスのイベントが開催されていました。
他にもいろんなブースがあり、外ではアフリカの食事が楽しめるフードスタンドもありましたよ〜！
This year was their 4th annual African fair.
Originally, Tama zoo began this event to introduce African animals and culture, and to encourage friendship between Japan and Africa.
On Oct. 27 they hosted talk shows about African animals, and Oct. 28 they had African music and dance events.
Outside, there were food stalls selling African cuisine!

東京都内から、行きは初めて乗った多摩モノレール！
駅にもぬいぐるみなどが飾られていてワクワク〜。
（ちなみに帰りは京王動物園線に乗りましたが、外も中も動物園仕様のデザインでした！ディ⚪︎ニーリゾートのモノレールのような）
From central Tokyo, we used the Tama Monorail.
Absolutely first time coming so far out and using this train...
On the way back we rode Keio Tama Zoo Train, which was really cute with all the special animal designs!
いざ動物園へ / Arriving at the zoo
外に出るとなんと、すぐそこにエントランスが！
Right outside both stations (of monorail and Keio line train), you can't miss this entrance!
開園６０周年おめでとうございます〜！！
まずは腹ごしらえに、エントランスそばのカフェテリアでランチを食べました。
It's their 60th anniversary this year! Congrats :)
We arrived just past noon, so first off we had lunch at the cafeteria.
かわいいゾウさん弁当！実際おいしかったです〜
Cute elephant obento (packed lunch) which was in fact delicious!
カップやお箸の袋のデザインも動物柄で、こういう所にも手が込んでいると楽しい気分になりませんか？！(^^)
奥のスパゲッティも美味しくいただきました。
食後は園内マップを広げてどのルートで回るかチェック。
仕事の都合上遅めのお昼スタートだったので回りきれるか不安が…笑
We loved how the cups and chopstick had animal designs on them. (Spaghetti was also very good!)
After lunch, we studied the map and decided on a route through the zoo.
We had a slow start that day so we were actually quite worried if we'll get through everything...
このカフェテリアが入っている建物内にホールもあり、そこでトークショーやダンスイベントが行われていました。
ブースもたくさん設置できるほどの多目的スペースがあり、歩き疲れた時は室内で休憩がてら楽しめる感じでした！
Right by the cafeteria, they had a hall (where they held the talk shows etc), and also free space where they had special booths and educational exhibitions!
一部床がかわいいことになってました！
多摩動物公園初めてだったんですが、さりげなく気合が入っててびっくりしました笑

なかなか広い園内で勾配もあるので、とりあえずシャトルバスで上の方に向かうことに。
The zoo was larger than we had expected, so we used their shuttle bus uphill to start the day.
これまたバスがかなり可愛い〜。よくあるちょっとイカツイ表情のライオンバスとかではない所が！
しっかり尻尾もついてます！
結局時間が足りず回りきることができませんでしたが、次回出会った動物たちの紹介をします♪
We ended up not having enough time to visit each area, but on the next entry we'll share with you some photos and infos about the animals we met here!
