今日は東京は一日中お天気が悪い予報でしたが…幸いわたしは一度も雨に降られませんでした(^^)v

日没後は段々肌寒くなってきましたね！風邪や体調管理には気を付けましょう♪

さて、昨日の続きですが、

実は成都市の保護施設、パンダのみならずレッサーパンダもいるそうです！

残念ながらわたしたちが行ったときは一時的に閉鎖されていたのですが、レッサーパンダも絶滅危惧種なのです。

IUCNのカテゴリー上では「絶滅危惧種IB類」に該当し、ジャイアントパンダより危険な状態なのです…！

ジャイアントパンダは、嬉しいことに2016年に「絶滅危惧IB類」→「絶滅危惧II類」に見直されたのです★

The Chengdu Research Base not only protects giant pandas, but they also protect red pandas!

Unfortunately the red panda enclosures were temporarily unavailable for viewing when we went...

but yes, they too are endangered species! 

Giant pandas' IUCN category was revised from "Endangered" to "Vulnerable" in 2016, but red pandas are still considered "Endangered",

which makes them in a slightly more dangerous situation!

パンダたちに会いつつ道を下って行くとこちらにたどり着きます。

「熊猫科学探秘館」とは保護活動の一環でもある繁殖方法について詳しく説明されていたり、科学的な研究がベースの展示館です。

タッチスクリーンが中・英・日の３ヶ国語で表示されていたり、ドキュメンタリーを上映していてとても興味深くわかりやすかったです！

After you walk downhill for a while, you reach the Panda Scientific Discovery Centre.

As the name suggests, it focuses on scientific researches, mainly concerning panda breeding methods, that lead to further successful protection of these animals.

They use large panels and touch screens shown in 3 languages (Chinese, Japanese, English) and also has a room for documentary viewing.

Very modern, easy to understand presentation!

ちょっとパンダからはずれますが、かなりよかったのが、これ！

中国国内の絶滅危惧種の基本情報と分布についてのタッチスクリーン。

SAMSARA本部にまるっと持ち帰りたかったです（笑）

最近はかなり若い層もipadを使いこなすので、こういうインタラクティブで見た目も楽しいものを子供の教育に取り入れると、

より動物に興味を持って育ってくれるのかも…って思っています。

They had a corner where they introduced not only pandas, but other endangered species in China.

We probably would have bought this touch screen if it was on sale...! XD 

Colourful and interactive apps like this would in fact be very good for educating kids and increasing awareness for endangered species.

もう一ヶ所古い展示館があり、こちらはもっとアナログな展示になっています。

パンダの基本情報、歴史的文献に登場した例、どうして脅かされているか、生態について骨格標本やホルマリン漬けの内臓の展示を用いています。こちらは中国語と英語のみの説明文付きですが、オールラウンドで興味深かったです！

They also have an older exhibition room, where they have a more analog style exhibition.

Information are in Chinese and Japanese, covers all the general topics in depth. Very interesting!

ショックですが、これでも頭数は増えている…らしいですよ！！

中国もどんどん発展していく中で難しいのでしょうが、人とパンダの良い共存方法が見つかることを願っています！

One of the first panels in the exhibition was the map of panda population at its peak, and the population recently.

It is really shocking to see the comparison, but it is true that panda numbers are recovering slowly...!!

Let's hope Humans and Pandas find a nice balance of sharing this beautiful world♥
